Points For Life

Points For Life; Another Way We Say “Thanks!”

Did you know? Every blood donation with us earns donor rewards points in the Points For Life store! Points can be used to order donor rewards like blood center gear, giftcards, and more! Accumulate Points by donating blood at least every 6 months.

What’s In a Pint? Breaking Down Your Blood Donation

  • Whole Blood Donation = 100 Points

  • Make and keep an appointment = 100 Points Bonus!

  • Take your Donor Survey after donating = 25 Points

Earn a 100 Point bonus for every 3rd donation in a calendar year!

Additionally, Points earned depends on donation type:

·         A whole blood donation is 100 points and you can donate every 8 weeks

·         A double red cell donation is worth 300 points and can be done every 16 weeks

·         Apheresis donations (plasma, platelets or a combination of both) is worth 150 points and you can donate up to every 2-3 weeks (depending on eligibility)

Bonus Points Weeks

At certain times, The Blood Center may offer double or even triple points for donations. This is to encourage more donors to come in and give during times we usually experience a shortage (typically around holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mardi Gras. etc.) Bonus points may also be offered for only specific donation processes due to hospital needs (such as a bonus for just Platelet donations over the weekend to fill the requirement for an upcoming scheduled surgery.)

Double and triple points bonuses apply to the donation points only. Appointment bonuses do not multiply with double or triple points. For example during a Double Points Week, a whole blood donation will earn 200 Points instead of the regular 100, plus the donor can earn an additional 100 points for making and keeping their appointment.
